iseries migration experiences?

Am looking for stories (good / bad / indifferent) about companies that
have attempted (successfully or otherwise) to migrate core home-grown
business systems from iseries to linux and/or windows platforms.

We are contemplating going the route of rewriting our rpg apps in
java, implementing a linux cluster, and turning off the as400.

Any experiences from people who have gone down a similar path would be
much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
