DAR listing

Hello all, How should I list the contents of a DAR archive without
restoring (-x) files? Ditto how can I find whether a given file is in the
archive? dar -l doesn't do what I expect; it seems to list the content of a
full backup even if it's an incremental backup with nothing in it. Any
comments gratefully received.
