I am curious as to why 'df' is reporting the incorrect information
regarding free/used space on my drive. I don't know if it has anything to
do with the fact that this drive is in fat32 or not, but windows XP is
showing that it has less than 1GB free, while df shows that it has 8GB
free.
I know that df is the wrong one because du -s shows that I am using 114GB
of 115 available:
chris@sakura [/mnt/usb]$ du -s
118973152 .
but df seems to show differently:
chris@sakura [/mnt/usb]$ df /mnt/usb
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1 119819672 111636060 8183612 94% /mnt/usb
Is there any way I can 'refresh' df or my filesystem or whatever may be
the case? This is causing a problem, because I do not know how much space
I have free when I am downloading.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
