I think that is a bit harsh. Consider the background of the O.P. He is
familiar with Microsoft Windows and is smart enough to have switched
from that to Linux. He just needs a bit of a roadmap as to the structure
of Linux systems. Word Processors are a poor integration of a text
editor and a text processor. Hence the confusion of text editor and text
processor. Give the guy a break and enlighten him instead of demeaning him.
