MS office is totally inadequate for mathematical typesetting. AFAIK _all_
mathematics journals use LaTeX -- as do nearly all mathematicians. I had
the unusual experience of co-authoring an article a couple years ago with
one of the few mathematicians who does not use LaTeX, and he wrote it up.
In Word. I had trouble even reading the manuscript in Open Office, since
whatever MS does with math fonts is not the same as in OO. I had to
have him give me paper copies in the end. The journal re-typed the
article in TeX, and we had more hassles with correcting proofs than usual.
