]Not if you use xdm/kdm/gdm to login (no console). If X fails to start,
]it will try again and again (and fail again and again...), the only
]solution is to reboot under single-user mode to fix that.

They all have alt-ctrl-F[1-6] as consoles even with xdm. Only if you do
alt-ctrl-bksp do y ou run into your problem.
