Upgrade default RH8.0 to glibc2.3.2?

Hello,

I would like to upgrade the Mozilla on my RH8.0 system, and I see that
even Red Hat's rpm of the 1.0.2 version of Mozilla on their website
(compared to the 1.0.1 that comes with RH8.0), requires glibc2.3.2 instead
of the default glibc2.2.93.
So, I would like to know the best way to upgrade this. I have read horror
stories where people upgraded this, the upgrade crashed, and then their
machines failed to boot afterwards! I believe this was caused by upgrading
an i686 version with the -- then only available -- i386 version, and has
been since fixed.

My install of RH8.0 was an "install everything", and I have yet to upgrade
anything in it. I have also downloaded the following from Red Hat's web
site:
glibc-2.3.2-4.80.8.i686.rpm (the arch of my current glibc is i686)
    glibc-common-2.3.2-4.80.8.i386.rpm
    glibc-devel-2.3.2-4.80.8.i386.rpm
glibc-kernheaders-2.4-7.20.i386.rpm (although this one also came with
RH8.0)

Is this all I should need? And what is the best way to upgrade with the
least amount of potential problems? Is there anything else I need to be
aware of, like will this upgrade effect anything else on my system?

Thanks in advance,
  Scott Navarre
