It should not require much. So long as the SCSI controller card is
supported by Linux, it should 'just work'.
Note: not all SCSI controller cards support booting.
To *boot* from a SCSI CD-ROM, you need:
1) A SCSI controller card with BIOS code.
2) A SCSI controller card with the BIOS code for *booting* from a CD-ROM
drive.
3) The BIOS on the SCSI controller needs to be enabled AND the BIOS code
for *booting* from a CD-ROM drive needs to be enabled AND the
motherboard BIOS needs to be told to allow booting from the SCSI
controller.
