DNS using PPTP Client

I have a simple problem: whenever i connect to anything using the linux
pptp client and pptp-php-gtk dns resolution stops working. Nothing in
nsswitch.conf has changed either. Ideas? What files should i look at?
I can ping anything that i could access before connecting just that dns
resolution goes down. Thanks in advance.
