I need to move/resize some partitions on one of my machines.
I've done this several times in the past with Gnu parted, but
now it refuses to work: parted 1.6.8 complains that my ext2 and
ext3 partitions have "rather strange" layouts and says it can't
resize them.
Even when I try to move a partition without resizing it, I
still get the error message that it can't be resized.
I've tried turning off the journals, and have resized the
partitions a couple times with "resize2fs". Parted still
doesn't know what to do.
Is there any way to convert the partition back into ext2/ext3
partitions that parted _does_ know how to handle?
