Another alternative is to use jpeg2ps, which just wraps the jpeg image
data into postscript level 2 or 3. The version I used came from one
of CTAN (ftp://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/support/jpeg2ps). The
following url may point to the same (or a similar program).
