I use the 250MB USB-powered Iomega zip drive with my laptop (a Sony Vaio
PCG-R600HEP) and it works absolutely fine. I've also tried it with an
older Vaio and on a Higrade laptop, all with either Redhat or Mandrake
on and all worked fine, so I'd agree with the other poster and say it's
a problem with the laptop.
