its memory consumption. on a desktop machine with
a 1gig processor and 256mb RAM, running suse 9.1
or xandros 2.0 business edition , running eXPensive
(as as guest OS) is painful under kde - it's more
bearable under icewn or blackbox or openbox.
on a 1.8 ghz / 1gig RAM [Dell] laptop with suse 9.1
or xandros 2.0, running eXPensive is fine under kde,
but only using low-memory apps such as office
applications. the example i used earlier, however,
running Rose and loading a large model - it takes
a LONG time to load that model. of course, Rose is
a memory hog, plus the way the m$ OS handles memory
is the real culprit
