Magicfilter-2.3?

I've been using magicfilter-1.2 happily for a long time but on migrating
to the 2.6 kernel I find it no longer works. I tried apsfilter but that
isn't good either. I fetched the magicfilter-2.3 tarball and compiled it
but I can't find how to use it; there is little documentation and
nothing much on google. Does anyone have a suitable printcap file for
this?
