Not an argument.

A classic post-modern assertion: Everything is a matter of opinion, there
are no objective facts, so anyone might be labelled a troll, but like
everything, this can never be either proven nor falsified.

Once you take this position, it undermines the credibility of your claim to
be looking for information, because according to you, there isn't any --
there are only opinions.

It's your position, one not shared by anyone else, so killfile yourself.

Moving on.

Assertion 1:

> I'm not an anti-Semite, I don't have a political agenda.

Let's see.

/ ...

Assertion 2, a classic logical fallacy -- "Everyone knows ...":

> I'll speak plainly. My tentative thesis is the following:
> Noone denies that Jews have disproportionate influence in the media,

Assertion 3 -- guilt by association:

> and by extension in the mainstream software industry.

Assertion 4 -- Brainless rhetoric plus a bumpersticker:

> disprove) that one could regard the "Open source" movement as (for the

> counter-balance to Jewish influence.

By assuming a "Jewish influence" without either defining or attempting to
document it, this contradicts assertion 1 -- you are, in fact, taking a
political position, and you have an agenda. It also shows that, regardless
of whether of not you are an anti-Semite, you seem comfortable mouthing the
positions of anti-Semites.

If you really were interested in information for its own sake and had no
political agenda, you would not let this sort of bumpersticker thinking
into your posts. You would also avoid taking post-modern positions, because
they always contradict themselves (if post-modernism is correct, if there
really are no objective facts, if everything is a matter of opinion, this
must apply to post-modernism itself). Granted, your position might spring
from simple, everyday ignorance.

Being against Israel's policies is not anti-Semitic per se, contrary to a
certain infamous dictionary entry to that effect. This undermines your
position, for reasons you haven't noticed.

I want to know what you think about the relationship between object-oriented
programmers and the probability that they own and ride bicycles. BUT THIS
IS NOT THE APPROPRIATE FORUM.
