I've offered to install SuSE Linux Pro for a colleague as a cure for
the ills that windoze is heir to. He has a RYO application for
cataloging his books, and is considering redoing it in m$ abscess.
I've tried to convince him to use an open source DBMS instead, but he
wants a GUI for administering the data base and for developing the
application. Please don't ask me why he wants a GUI; I don't see the
point to it, but he's adamant.
So, what can you suggest to save him from the Evil Empire? Ideally it
not be tied to a single DBMS.
