The problem is using a device like my TI86 graphing calculator. I have
tried the USB cable aviable in storres now, but it refuses to work
properly (I've been trying various applications and drivers for the usb
setup but when it did work, any programs transfered would be heavily
corrupted, resulting in the calc's mem having to be wiped (thank god I
had a back up!))

The calc only seems to work with serial, and thats the only reliable way
for my TI86 that I've been able to find. I have bene using it under
linux, but would really like to habe access in windows.

This is why I want some sort of virtual Serial comm port, so I can leave
it plugged into the linux server, and have a virtual port on my XP
machine.
