I've got Mandrake 10.0 on a system. I'm trying to burn a DVD ISO
image with my Lite-On DVD+-RW drive, model SOHW-1213S. I tried
burning to a blank Phillips DVD+RW disc using K3b 0.11.6, and
checking the "verify" box when burning to make sure the md5sums
match for the ISO and the burned image. I could never get the
verification to pass. When I try to mount that drive, it also
    fails.

Then I tried burning to a blank Memorex DVD-RW disc using K3b.
Again, K3b says the verification failed. This time I *could*
mount the disc. Mounting is not an indication that the disc
is good, but it seemed better than the other attempt. After
mounting the DVD I ran an md5sum on it and got a non-matching
    sum.

The DVD burner in question is supposedly "burn proof". My
machine is a 2GHz Celeron with 1GB of RAM. While burning I'm not
running anything else, other than whatever starts up when I boot
    the machine.

What can I do better to get a valid burn on a DVD? What can I
    investigate to get my answer?

    Thanks folks.....
