Of the P2P clients available for Linux, i have to date found LimeWire to be
the best. It keeps calling for an upgrade, and now it won't honour the
version I have.
The upgrade however, consistently refuses to install, which is why I have
stuck with the old one. I have Java SDK and JRE 1.4.2. When I tried to
install LimeWire under Windows, I already had a version of 1.4.2 present,
but the installer said that it was no good and installed 1.3. I wonder if
the same is true under Linux? If so, they know what they can do with it!
A Java message board suggested apollon at SourceForge. I use gtk-gnutella
most of the time, but it doesn't seem to be as good some of the time.
Doug.
