Your previous posts have been sufficiently illuminating.

Similar background to mine, except that I started with RH 5.1 and skipped
7.0 and 7.2.

You last post on the subject was a litany of problems without any response
to my queries about how you tried to install X.

Your previous postings indicated that you were even incapable of reading
error messages. Yes, you are a clueless newbie.

You haven't met Gentoo yet :)

I have lived in India. And a few of my close relatives there do run Debian,
even on some ancient hardware.

You never provided any response to my questions about your modules, and the
built in ppp support. kppp cannot work if your kernel does not support it,
can it ? How do you expect a possibly non-ppp supporting kernel to run
dialup ?

Speak for yourself, Sir. I have found Debian to be far more painless than RH
(and I used RH for almost 5 years).

People don't have to. Your posts about X not working were priceless -
(not verbatim, but captures the essence)
"Error : X not present ....

Better trade some of that asbestos with some power of observation and some
humility. Until then, good riddance.
