I am a linux newbie so this
might be trivial:
I got an Intel 85286 video card and Dell flat-panel monitor.
When I installed RH 9.0 and EL, it detetcs the video card as intel 286
( no intel 85286 is listed ). But the display resolution is just too
primitive no matter how I tried to adjust it. So I downloaded Intel
85286 driver (rpm file) and tried to install (rpm -i) it. It complains
about X server is running etc. Now I couldn't uninstall (-e ) or
reinstall
it(-i). Wonder what's the easiest way to login to commad line interface
instead of X window and is it the usual way to reinstall the video card
driver?
Thanks,
