Doesn't matter - it's probably only calibrated at startup. Run
bogomips (the application) and compare.

Then make one. You will need to load various cpuspeed support modules.

kapmd? Doesn't sound familiar. Oh! That would be the kernel thread from
the apm module. It will be handling apm events by running files in
/etc/apm/*.
