default x11 application font

(Fedora FC3 on laptop Compaq EVO N1020V - IceWM)
I customized my fonts OK under IceWM, but still when a legacy X11 app
is launched, it appears with the worst possible fonts...
where it is held that info? I searched the xfs config files, the
xorg.conf file ,....
