I believe Intel recommend keeping my 3.06GHz processors the outside air of
computers under 35C, and the air temperature at the heat sink fan inlet
should be below 45C, and the maximum case temperature of 70C. Furthermore,
going over that temperature causes irreversable problems short of burnout,
including unreliable performance, unrepeatable errors, etc. I.e., once you
have done that to a chip, if you get problems, you probably better replace
the chip.
