I can't think of any service that would do this. You will loose any
connections you have, ssh sessions and such, but that is all...these
sessions will eventually realize the connection is severed and go away
if coded properly (the other side will do the same thing too). Servers
waiting for requests on ports associated with the network for the
unplugged device will continue waiting for requests that they will never
recieve. When you plug in the network they will respond correctly to
any request then given. I can't think of any service that is adversly
affected by removing the network cable...occasional connection loss is
standard with networks and all well coded programs know how to deal with
that. If you find a service that does require that you restart it like
that then you have found a broken service.
