You deliberately compare ext2 with NTFS, despite the fact that NTFS is
journaled. If you want to make a *fair* comparison (I know you don't,
you're clearly a troll), at least compare NTFS with ext3. Oh, and NTFS
quite regularly hoses files, which this whole thread is evidence of.
I've only once or twice heard about that happening to ext3 for reasons
other than hardware failure.
