after 10yrs of sysadmin i got my best person system hose ever!
so im messing around with RHES3 it's got all the default pkg's
installed and i wanna roll with mysql 4 for various reasons and php5,
so i start to play around and ends up it's whining about glibc needing
to be newer so im thinking, ok this is gonna be bad but what the h$$$
it's a new server that was just installed today if i hose it no biggie,
so anyways i install the new glibc and glibc-common, and yum is broken
and then all of a sudden i get the following
[root@newtune rpms]# top
Segmentation fault
[root@newtune rpms]# w
Segmentation fault
[root@newtune rpms]# uname -a
Segmentation fault
[root@newtune rpms]# df -h
Segmentation fault
[root@newtune rpms]# su - root
Segmentation fault
[root@newtune rpms]#
[root@newtune rpms]# w
Segmentation fault
[root@newtune rpms]# reboot
Segmentation fault
[root@newtune rpms]# wall
Segmentation fault
[root@newtune rpms]#
my current session is alive but if i try and open a new session, im
prompted for user, then password , input password and poof session goes
away cuz obviously it's seg faulting LOL
just thought this was too priceless not to share with someone, looks
like ill be installing FreeBSD when i get to work on Tuesday haha
cheers
