No, but you'd think that if you could demonstrate that the problem still
exists when booting from a live cd that would be enough. Most systems
nowadays come with a reinstall cd; that often could demonstrate the
issue for some problems (like a dead key).

The functionality of such things could be expanded to do much more: for
example, give a text box to test keys in, something for function keys,
something for display modes, speakers, network, etc. Easy to do, and
would help them and their customers.

It would be a hoot if some vendor started providing a cd for that
purpose and did it with Linux :-)
