greets,
this is weird. I have a document written in OpenOffice 1.1.4 (Suse 9.1)
that is about 75 pages long.
I came back to it after a week and find that when I open it in OO, it is
only one blank page!
however, opening it in Abiword resurrects the whole document.
I just did an experiment and renamed the document in Abiword and saved it
as rtf. when I open _this_ document in OO, it reads the whole thing.
my guess is the file was corrupted (but didn't deter Abiword?!) - there
was a crash of kde since I last worked on the document and it was open.
this was _very_ disconcerting. any thoughts on how to recover the file
directly into OO? otherwise I have to do a fair amount of reformatting
because of changes due to the Abiword conversion.
I haven't found anything on Google and the OpenOffice forum is unwieldly
for searching.
