not familiar with boot.msg, but it doesnt show any troubles with sata.
maybe its a different problem that does not show up and the mentioned
line is the last line that works.
usually when linux detects a problem it says something like "failed" or
"panic" ...
when I run into troubles like yours I build my own kernel including all
stuff neeed for boot into the kernel (in your case the sata-support and
the intel 810-chip if there is an extra part for it in the kernel)
or at least check if the initrd is ok.

this is not much help. you can try to recreate your initrd and you can
try the usual kerneloptions like noacpi and so on. but thats a shot in
the dark.
