Recover Data from LVM disk

Hi,
I am trying to recover some data from an LVM disk - Centos 4.1(?). I
have rebuilt the system with a new drive (Old drive removed during
build) - I have had to use Centos 4.0 for this build.
I have re-installed the old drive and changed the LVM label so as not
to cause problems. However, when I use lvdisplay it does not appear to
show any data or volumes on the drive although the name is changed...
Have I lost this data totally or can I get it back somehow?
Any help would be most appreciated.
