My mencoder does not support Xvid

Hi to everybody!
I can't encode using the xvid codec.This is the output of mencoder -ovc
help:

I installed MPlayer and MPlayer-suite using apt4rpm ( writing from a SuSE
box!) and I guess the xvid support isn't provided by the .rpm package
( even though it sounds to me a bit strange...).
Question is: is there a way to get the xvid support editing the src.rpm
file?( I'd rather not to mess my installed software DB using source ...)
Another issue: what's the meaning of this?
