First, never ever use 'yum remove' with '-y' unless you are 100%
sure you know what you are doing. Dunno yumex, presuming some
GUI, I'd be careful. You can render the system useless in a
second, this is unix, it assumes the guy with UID 0 knows what
he's doing.

Yep, it does. Easiest way, would be to recover from backup.
Hopefully you still have 'yum.log' it shouldn't have been deleted
and should contain info until yum was removed what you are
missing. Is your rpm db still in place (/var/lib/rpm)?
