Linux based router/firewall and AOL

I've been reading about some of the linux distributions that act as a firewall and router to use on an old computer. The firewall and router will serve a few WinXP machines that use AOL broadband (via cable modem). Does anyone know if any of them will work with the AOL protocol so that all three computers can connect to their AOL accounts at the same time? I know it works with TimeWarner RoadRunner (T.W. is AOL parent company), but the picture for AOL is unclear.

Thanks, Dave
