You are right there! Can you imagine an OS you must pay for where you do not
even get a compiler? What good is a computer when you cannot even write
programs for it? Even with the UNIVAC I and the IBM 704 you got assemblers
for them at no extra cost. And that was about 60 years ago. Microsoft still
has a long way to go.
