You can install SUSE Linux 10 from the single-CD image.
Alternatively, you can download the 5CD set and choose an install
pattern that will get packages from a variety of CDs
Another option is to download the sole DVD image and install from there.
You can also install a minimal system using the "net install" iso and
load everything else you choose from a mirror site.
Some people even like to create their own mirror and use that.
As for gfxboot being required, this is a logo for using a graphical
interface to LILO - hardly a prerequisite.
Most people I know, just put in CD 1, accepted the default options,
entered a couple of user names & passwords and had a working SUSE Linux
installation in approximately half an hour without changing CDs.
Obviously, if like mayayana, you choose to go for some of the more
obscure options, then you are likely to need some of the lesser-used
CDs.
