mySQL
I am not really sure which group to post this question to, but this
seems the most logical. I have a Redhat 9 box running mySQL 5. I
would like to be able to connect to it from another server via JDBC or
the mySQL admin tool. Being new to mysql and linux I am not really
sure how to do this. I believe I have mySQL running on port 3306, but
do I need to open that port on the linux side as well? If so, how does
one do that? This for an home network so I am not too worried about
security just yet.
Thank you for any advice or pointers you can offer.
