That may be as may be.
However, I would do what Pete says to do and start figuring out IF you have
a problem. Main thing is that you don't want it to return. The
possibility of having a "root" partition 2GB in size .. well, for example
my /root is in a separate partition on /dev/hda1 and is 100 MB in size and
is still less than half-full; having a /root partition of 2 GB or what ever
is just wasted space, IMHO.
Take a look at some Google listings using the query "location of /home"
using the advanced Google search settings within Linux pages.
Scope out what "recommended" sizes for partitions are set at and then put
some planning into wiping your system and starting over with appropriately
sized partitions.
