how to release port 8080

hi all,

i recently installed jboss AS version 4.0.2.........it was running
fine...but today morning it would start but i would not be able to
acces the local links of the jboss server page...so i chkd out and
found that even after the jboss server has stopped..8080 port that it
uses is still blocked........

when i stopped the httpd, i could still access the jboss page...

and also while booting up, the jboss server would show in its messages
that port 8080 is already in use..

can some one advise me on whats going wrong..and how do i flush port
8080..so that it could be used again
