I have powernow-k8 working on my Fedora Core 4 box with
cpuspeed using the cpufreq_ondemand module.
But it keeps logging this in the dmesg output occasionally:
powernow-k8: error - out of sync, fix 0x2 0xc, vid 0x12 0x8
powernow-k8: error - out of sync, fix 0xc 0x2, vid 0x8 0x12
is that a normal 'info' warning or something that needs fixed?
The cool and quiet throttling seems to work...
The core is a dual core AM6 64 X2 3800 on a Abit AN8 Ultra
motherboard.

I found this is a known issue and it seems mostly harmless
if you just have a single socket Dual core system:
http://www.ussg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0602.0/0399.html
but if you have a multi socket dual core it might cause
some of the cpus not to be managed by powernow. This will
be fixed in a upcoming kernel.
