Re: What's the Dealio with initrd, etc/fstab, initrd.img inittab, vmlinuz, grub and partitions ???

Oh...whoops;
here's my etc/fstab
user@localhost:~$ cat /etc/fstab

# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1 vfat noauto,user,umask=000 0 0
/dev/hda5 /mnt/hda5 vfat noauto,user,umask=000 0 0
/dev/hda6 /mnt/hda6 vfat noauto,user,umask=000 0 0
/dev/hda7 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1
/dev/hda9 /home ext3 defaults 0 2
/dev/hda10 /usr ext3 defaults 0 2
/dev/hda11 /var ext3 defaults 0 2
/dev/hda8 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/hdd /media/cdrom0 iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdc /media/cdrom1 iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy0 auto rw,user,noauto 0 0

I'm not sure if this is of any relevance, but when I installed Debian,
I said NO to setting up any Mail Servers or Clients (just for now) -
but more importantly, I DID set up a 'fake' domain (and name) - it was
just a matter of making a change to the standard 'localhost' that's
filled in for you, and then creating a domain name
(blahblah.comcrap)...I have yet to see ANY of that domain-name info yet
ANYWHERE on my box. Just thought it might be affecting my User
permissions and such (I've gotten pretty good with K Control Center).
This PC is a stand alone, wired Ethernet on Cable, with Router (no
others networked to it - yet).
