I have a license file for UNIX.
That license file check hostid 8 characters. As you know, Sun

So do Linux machines, at least those which use GNU coreutils.
Unfortunately, That machine is out of oder and that is my the only one

Presumably that application or whatever it is uses binaries compiled for
SPARC architecture. How do you expect them to run on an x86 Linux machine
even if you are successful in transferring the license?
No, the programs use flexlm, which goes out looking for a flexlm server,
and that server software compares the hostid in the license file with the
hostid of the server machine. flexlm server software is available for many
many different architectures with no proplem. It is the license file that
is the problem ( it contains the host id and a signature and checks the
hostid against the signature. That signature scheme is kept secret.)
