Any take on why FreeBSD is not more popular? I find it extremely rare
to read much about it in the forums. It doesn't even appear to have an

they would get much more exposure then they do!
It's probably more popular than you realize. BSD'ers are just not as
clamerous as Linux users. One of the largest web hosting companies,
Ipower, uses FreeBSD, and if memory serves, Hotmail ran on FreeBSD for
a couple years before M$ got its act together. BSD in all its guises
is alive and well.
I see alt.fr.os.bsd, alt.os.bsd, alt.os.freebsd, comp.os.386bsd.*,
comp.unix.bsd.386bsd.*, freebsd.*
where * represents many groups. This is via my ISP, which is
actually accessing giganews.
