Hi all, i have a problem, I am using rpm to create rpm packages for
linux. Now, I have a problem, when it is redhat distribution, the rpm
must work on one way, but when it is suse it must work other way. I can
not find the way to accomplish this. rpm ifos or ifarch options just
make difference between architectures and operating systems, but for
all linux distributions they use "Linux" as identifier, so it is not
possible to make a difference between linux redhat and linux suse for
example. Can anyone help me? thanx.
You want rpm for all distros? Check out OpenPkg:

Another crowd who achieved similar goals through a different angle is the
NetBSD crew (of course, they don't use rpms, but makefiles - solves all
dependencies - works on BSD, Linux, Solaris, Darwin/MacOS X, AIX, Irix,
etc).

No need to reinvent the wheel.
