Self-test execution status: ( 0) The previous self-test routine completed

been run.
I recently had a similar situation with a laptop drive. It passed the SMART
health assessment, but I was getting read errors in my logs, very similar to
yours. I finally gave up and replaced the drive, and the problem went away.
There are some more things you can look at. Try 'smartctl -l error
/dev/hda' and 'smartctl -l selftest /dev/hda', and look for any problems. In
my case, the error log listed some read errors, even though the health
assessment said OK.
If the selftest log shows no tests, then run some: smartctl -t long
/dev/hda, then look at the selftest log again.
But regardless of what SMART tells you, if you keep having problems then at
some point you have to give up and replace the drive. With the cost of hard
disks nowadays, it doesn't make sense to struggle with one for very long.
Good luck,
Andrew.
