I've been trying to print an envelope from the envelope feeder on an HP
OfficeJet but it always gets the orientation wrong. I'm using FC4, the
latest HP drivers and the latest version of OpenOffice. I've tried both
portrait and landscape mode, it makes no difference. I have no trouble
doing it from Word on Win4Lin but I'd like to be able to do it from a
native Linux app.

When you select the "Env. #10" size in OO, it defaults to 4.13" *wide* by 9.5" *high* in portrait mode. Clicking the landscape option rotates that. But, IME, that *still* doesn't work. What does work is to leave the "Portrait" radio button selected, but manually enter the dimensions as 9.5" *wide* by 4.13" *high*. I don't know why the results don't turn out right, but they just don't seem to when you use their default dimensions and landscape mode.

(I've "printed" to a PostScript file and viewed it with gv and seen that the text goes across the envelope even in the PS file. At least this was still the case last time I bothered to try it.)
