I've been trying to print an envelope from the envelope feeder on an HP
OfficeJet but it always gets the orientation wrong. I'm using FC4, the
latest HP drivers and the latest version of OpenOffice. I've tried both
portrait and landscape mode, it makes no difference. I have no trouble
doing it from Word on Win4Lin but I'd like to be able to do it from a
native Linux app.

If you might like a fairly primitive command-line-based Perl
script, I'd be happy to send one. It's 266 lines long, so
it would probably not be appropriate to post here. It does
have a few nice features: it reads a '.returnadr' file from
the current directory or $HOME (or read from stdin); it
reads the 'to' address from a plain-text business-style
letter; it can print multiple envelopes per session; it
prompts for confirmation before printing each one (to give
me time to load an envelope in the slot).

Please inform if you'd like it sent.

I'd like to have a look at it: see headers for email...
