following words to the masses in /comp.os.linux.misc...:/
Hi! I bought a Mandriva Linux 2006 magazine at cost of $19.99 from
Borders's book store today. This magazine is published in UK and
contains three CDs for installation of Mandriva Linux Limited Edition
2006. To my surprise, installation was perfect. I was trying to
Install Fedora Core 3 for last few weeks without sucess. This is just
for information. I am not connected to Mandriva any way. I am a newbie
to Linux. With thanks.
I'm glad it worked for you. ;-) Just a few words of advice, though...
(1) Install the latest updates as there are some important bugfixes,
notably in regards to /X11/ and ACPI; and
(2) Do not install /Kat/ - uninstall it if you have it. /Kat/ is a
desktop indexing tool that is seriously buggy in Mandriva 2006 and that
uses up a lot of CPU resources.
Other than that, good luck! ;-)
