Fail in authentication file/module

Hi,
I am trying fix a white box linux v.3 that cannot be login with any account(even root can't). I am suspend that some modules/files for authentication fail. However, I am not familiar with those file/modules. Do anyone know what are the location of those files ? Or is there anyway to fix them if they are corrupted.
