thanks for the commands....but is there anyway to find out which
application to use to launch that particular mime type file???
The previous poster pointed you to /etc/mailcap. The second field of
each line (i.e., after the first ; and before the second ;) is the
command to execute. See 'man 5 mailcap' for more info. A combination
of 'file', 'grep' and 'awk' will give you the necessary command.
Yes, I understood and also executed the "file -i" command...it was more
appropriate for my use. But my question still lies unanswered....how do
i launch the particular application associated for that mime
type...where can i find information regarding this on my system (SuSE
10 KDE 3.2)
